Can I Call You Tonight by Dayglow |
Love by Milton Lloyd is a very good dupe for Eden by Cacharel. I've smelt it in-store and it smells very similar although I don't own it so I can't say for sure. Nevertheless ...
Love and Eden are both fruity aquatic scents, filled with melon, citrus fruits, delicate flowers, and milky woody smells. To me, it smells like how an art gallery would smell. Quirky and just slightly a little off ... there's just something musty about it, like the moss growing in between ancient marbled statues - both opulent but also archaic in its heady decay of the past. Plus, there's a cheesiness to it that rests in between this watery fruity concoction that makes my senses say "whaat?".
Truthfully, I'm not in love with this scent. Yet, there's something cooling and sweet about it, and every now and then it surprises me by smelling addictively good and then like an aloof lover just okay. A conundrum, which I guess is like most love tales that swing between love, hate despondency and only dies when apathy truly wins.
I'm not sure if - I should declutter this, buy Eden itself since I really like the green bottle (smells exactly like Milton Loyd though) or continue this long term situationship with a bottle of Love (£3.99) I have mixed feelings for. Every time I think I'm ready to part with it I take a deep breath in and fall in love with the sweet and dreamy aquatic fruity scent. It is like being in the garden (warning nudity in the video). I could definitely see myself wearing this as a signature scent as its complex enough to linger throughout the day never really taking a backseat and blending with the other scents in the backdrop.
I'm not a relationship expert (philosopher perhaps) but sometimes I think love grows on us like mold. One minute are toe is a little fungated and then the next thing we know we're covered with the stuff and are sporing out our infection into the world. I know an icky metaphor for perhaps one of the greatest gifts of humanity ... you're welcome.
Needless to say, I think I just may hold onto LOVE a little longer.
Have you tried Eden by Cacharel?
Own any Milton Lloyd fragrances/dupes?
