Ranveer, who stepped into the world of 1950s set in Bengal, said, "In my earlier films, I have always been high on energy...Smiling. But I am happy I got to attempt something different with 'Lootera'. Initially I was frustrated. I felt I couldn't do this character. I couldn't get it right. It was Vikram, who convinced me that I could do it. In the film I play an intense lover. I have also cried in the film."
"This role has been the most difficult till now. It was quite challenging. While essaying the role, I would think of Madhubalaji, Waheeda Rehmanji and Suchitra Sen. I am quite excited about this film. I am really looking forward to it," added Sonakshi Sinha.
'Lootera' will be released on July 5.
